The next mayor will oversee an $80 million budget, promote our local businesses, and serve as an ex-officio member of the Board of Education. I for one, cannot trust Mr. Finizio to have such prodigious responsibilities.

New London must now make a choice. The city deserves results over rhetoric.

Fortunately, New London has Rob Pero, a candidate with an accomplished record of 16 years of experience in public service on the City Council. Year after year, he has advocated for reducing taxes, creating a more accountable government, improving education for our city's youth, and making neighborhood safety a priority. Rob's leadership and commitment to the community as both a husband and father will translate to the office of elected mayor.

His character and calm demeanor, New London born and bred, embodies everything that makes this city profound. For the first time in decades, New London has an important choice to make: A proven leader with a pragmatic voice, or an untested resident of one and a half years whose campaign lacks transparency.

The Whaling City is on the verge of greatness, and it needs a captain at the helm who will steer us on the voyage to success. Rob Pero is New London's beacon of hope.
